Boosting Intergenerational Bonds Amid COVID-19

By

AIC and Community Chest collaborated for the first time to support the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative by the Early Childhood Development Agency.

Under SSDB, preschools undertook projects under various themes, such as “Caring for Elderly”.

Since 2017, AIC has been helping to nurture intergenerational bonds between young children and seniors in the Community Care sector under a partnership with PAP Community Foundation (PCF Sparkletots). In 2020, however, due to COVID-19 safe distancing measures, physical visits to community care facilities were not possible.

These challenges were overcome with the aid of technology and innovative solutions that enabled these preschools to find new ways to engage and bring joy to seniors in the nursing homes under SSDB. Check out the photos below to see the activities they conducted!
