Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festivals of yesteryears

By

On 3 October 2017, 164 residents from Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens (LKH) celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival by reliving their yesteryears in a nostalgic way. Each resident was given a lighted and colourful lantern. It gave them much joy and brought them back to their childhood days, especially when they paraded their lanterns at the beautifully decorated Dementia Garden.

They were also engaged through a narration of the “Legend of Mooncakes” as part of the reminiscence therapy. Cantonese music played while tasty mooncakes, pomelo, yam, Ling Kok and hot Chinese tea were served. Some residents even sang along with the staff.

This event would not have been possible without the support of LKH’s CEO Dennis Tan, Nursing Director Belina Tham and staff, who enjoy bringing joy and making a difference in the residents’ lives.
